Under the hood of Next Gen OPACs

In researching Next Generation OPACs, you may have occasion to hear the words Lucene and Solr. Lucene and Solr make up much of the software framework that underlays many of the next-generation OPAC products. It is what is under the hood of VuFind and Primo (and likely others as well).
